This book started ten years ago as a letter to my grandchildren who were then in their late teens and twenties. I abandoned the project because I did not want my grandchildren to think I was trying to manage their lives. Years later I completed the script in book form to be open to anyone. I would then not be talking just to them, I would be talking to you and to them if they so decided to read it.

Starting in high school and continuing until my mid-twenties I struggled with several questions. What do I want to do with my life? What of value do I have to offer? What do I need to earn to support my wife and child? Do I want to focus on making money or in helping people.
